[BUG] EGL_BAD_PARAMETER / can't open / white window

🐛 Bug Description

1. I get this error when running the wrapper script:

Could not create default EGL display: EGL_BAD_PARAMETER. Aborting...`

1. Clicking the icon on the top bar -> 'Show Clipboard' does nothing.
2. Clicking the icon on the top bar -> 'Settings' opens a window, but is all white

Hi @shplack , I hope you're doing well.

I have a question, are you using an Nvidia GPU? I believe it might be an incompatibility issue with Nvidia drivers.

If yes, can you try these flags and tell what you see?

# make sure the app is closed or it'll only open the old instance
WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 GSK_RENDERER=gl win11-clipboard-history

# OR

WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 GSK_RENDERER=cairo win11-clipboard-history

No I am using the Framework 16 laptop with AMD GPU. I can try those env variables later when I'm home and lyk

I tested both of these env vars and neither worked, unfortunately.

Hi @shplack hope you're good 🤠

I guess it's fixed but some features are disabled(opacity and rounded corners) we highly recommend installing using deb or using cloudsmith(easy install).

I'll check out the install script, just FYI I'm using Bazzite which is Fedora based

EDIT:
Because I'm using Bazzite, the file system is read-only so I can't use the install script as-is. But I'll manually install the AppImage

I tested the new AppImage and it unfortunately didn't fix the underlying issue. I also get the same errors.

Hi @shplack can you try this flag?

# ensure it's closed
sudo pkill -f win11-clipboard-history
# use the flag
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 win11-clipboard-history

If it works, check if the opacity is working when switching tabs and see if there are any glitches.

Please let me know if it works, I just coded a fallback, I need to ensure it works also on your environment.
