interval: does infinity refresh on interval setting #1138

hello It seems that infinity does not fetch new data based on interval? Is that by design?

This is the interval of data points not the refresh interval. In grafana, we don't have panel level refresh interval. |

gotcha. Is the data supposed to be refreshed based on the interval, meaning by rest api is called ever x seconds? |

the interval in the panel is referring to the expected gap between the data points in the timeseries. Based on this there may be some calculations how it renders, how to fill null values etc. In your case, this setting doesn't matter. What matters to your case is https://grafana.com/docs/grafana/latest/setup-grafana/configure-grafana/#min_refresh_interval |

Once you configured https://grafana.com/docs/grafana/latest/setup-grafana/configure-grafana/#min_refresh_interval, your dashboard will have that options in the refresh drop down. ( 1s/2s/3s/1m/ etc ). Then you need to set the value in the dashboard and all the panels in the dashboards will refresh based on that value. |
