Control+period/comma ignores control modifier key

Typing C-.and C-, don't work as expected.
The ctrl modifier key seems to be ignored and it only sends . and , to the shell/app running in Tilix.

What behavior do you expect?

This is their behavior in most terminals. There's no control character or widely accepted escape sequence to represent them. If a terminal emits some escape sequence specific to Ctrl+, and Ctrl+. it's probably a custom extension not widely supported, and likely not understood by the receiving application.

I see. I didn't realise this was standard behaviour. (I'm not familiar with the terminal escape sequences.)

My use case: I tried binding C-. in emacs, and it failed to work with Tilix.

The only other terminal I have installed is ghostty, and this key sequence worked fine there.

This is the output I get with ghostty when I try C-v C-.: ^[[46;5u , and C-v C-,: ^[[44;5u.
