Could a folder be created containing examples that demonstrate what can be done with this programming language, from basic to advanced levels? A folder named "examples" could be used in the "main" branch. Gleam versions of simple examples written in Rust could even be included.

What benefit would this have over existing documentation, such as the language tour?

If we have example projects they wouldn't go in the compiler repo, it's not an appropriate place for documentation.

I think sometimes experienced programmers looking for a new language want to see what can be achieved with that language rather than a "Hello World" application. But of course, that's up to you.

The examples you added in the PR were "hello world" applications though?

Wouldn't the experienced programmers want to look at real-world projects with some actual complexity?

I agree; they would. I offered it as a suggestion. They might even want to see why I should choose this programming language over Rust. I'm sure you have similar case studies. Frankly, the first place I'd look for an answer to the question of why I should choose this language would be the examples folder, not the documentation.

PS: By the way, the ones I added today are of the Hello World variety. That's all I came up with after a few hours of research.

I can't find any instance of a programming language having an examples folder like the one you describe yourself regularly reviewing. Could you share the ones you've used in the past please 🙏
