I am running vaultwarden in a Proxmox LXC, and I would like to use backrest to back it up. I have successfully installed backrest and it's able to back my vaultwarden folder. However, because vaultwarden is using sqlite3 and there is potentially changes being written to the database while restic is backing it up, this isn't the recommended approach.
Per the vaultwarden documents, they recommend running the
vaultwarden backupcommand to create a backup sqlite file, which can then backup. My vaultwarden instance is installed at /opt/vaultwarden. So the vaultwarden executable is at /opt/vaultwarden/bin/vaultwarden.
I have added this to my docker compose file:
- /opt/vaultwarden:/vaultwardenMy plan was to create a CONDITION_SNAPSHOT_START hook with this script:
#!/bin/bash /vaultwarden/bin/vaultwarden backupBut it does not work, I get a "required file not found" error
I can see that docker is mounting the vaultwarden directory by running
docker exec -it backrest bashand viewing the filesystem. However, I am unable to execute the vaultwarden file. I get the same "required file not found" error. Is there a recommended approach for how to achieve this?
