Win 7 x64 drivers won't install

Following the instructions in the Google docs EXACTLY does not appear to work for W7x64 . Windows device manager just says "could not find driver software for your device"

Is there anybody who has a solution?

This could be a user-specific issue, the drivers have been tested on many win7 x86 and win7 x64 systems successfully. Maybe the overall driver-setup-situation of your PC is messed up? You need to cleanly remove any drivers that were assigned to the freeUSBi before performing the driver installation steps provided by the freeUSBi user guide.

I also just realized another thing, that we didn't mention in the freeUSBi getting Started Guide yet:

There's a Cypress board with 1 jumper and 2 jumpers.

You MUST remove the jumper if you're using the cypress board with 1 Jumper, otherwise the module might start in the wrong mode and therefore communicate a different USB device to the PC it's connected to.

(On the cypress board with 2 jumpers both jumpers should be 'Don't Care'.)

Edit:
I just noticed that it's already mentioned in the driver-installation tutorial. There we recommend to remove all jumpers from the cypress board before proceeding.

I even have 1 board with one jumper and one with 2 jumpers. Both respond equally. Same message "could not find driver software for your device".

As described in the manual for each trial I removed the jumpers.

I'm having the same driver installation issue under Win XP SP3. The cyusb3.inf file has a couple of problems - the reference to the coinstaller file is incorrect, and there is a weird EOL entry in line 39 which may also be incorrect. All that being said, I still cannot get the driver installed correctly even after trying to fix these INF file problems.

Deinstalling and re-installing SigmaStudio also hasn't helped as suggested by some. Any ideas how this can be fixed @sudlud ?

How should one "cleanly remove" a previous driver installation? Is the use of driver deinstallation in the device manager sufficient?

I just faced the same problem but then I figured out my "own" mistake. When you try to download the .inf file from github, firefox tends to save it do a html-file which doesn't contain the original file data. You have to navigate all the way through till you get to download the "raw" file. Then it worked for me. So if you only get an .inf.html file it won't work! Check that!
