I had an idea for a feature and wanted to hear your thoughts.
The learning steps I'm using are 30min 1d 3d (graduation interval - 6d, easy - 8d). Cards added while reviewing a note (pdf/video) are automatically linked to that note, and this addon keeps track of whether the user has studied the note. (I assume it also has a timestamp of when they did that?). If so, would it be possible to combine this with the v3 custom scheduling ability, where you can specify the interval for again/hard/good/easy buttons based on card states, in this case being the time since the user reviewed the source material for the card? (https://faqs.ankiweb.net/the-2021-scheduler.html#add-ons-and-custom-scheduling)
Example: I watched a video and made 25 cards on it. I only had time today to do 10 of the new cards. 3 days later I get around to reviewing the remaining 15 new cards. As I'm doing them the "good" interval will 1d because I'm on the first learning step. Instead I'd prefer if it was a 6d interval (immediately graduating the card) because I know that 3 days have elapsed since I learned the material and therefore I already know I will pass the 1d and 3d intervals.
Context: Of course it's ideal to do your new cards right after seeing the source material, but we're in med school and it's common to have a backlog new cards.
Current workaround: I do this manually by using the "set due date" option in reviewer, but I don't want to try and remember when I learned the source material.
