Pool fire with dispersion of soot (HCl)

I am asking for help with the simulation of n-heptane (66%) + methylene chloride (34%), where the result shows a large value of HCl formation. I have a 70m2 pool fire. Is this normal or did I make a mistake somewhere in the simulation. Since I am new, I am wondering if I need to attach any other files to view the results.

The file to attach is your .fds input file not the .out file.

Looking at the .out your SURF shows 0.0147 kg/m2/s of methylene chloride being added. With a 70 m2 spill area that is 1 kg/s of methylene chloride which based on the REAC information in the .out file means you will be making ~0.86 kg/s of HCl.

Why do I get, after what you mentioned, the display in the picture above, where it is clear that approx. 7 kg/s HCl is released? This is 7 x more than you mention.

The units in your first plot are kg, not kg/s

Hi,
I understand your answer, but if I want to get the final amount of HCl released in 300 s, it means that I add the data in the excel table for each second, which means that in 1 second approx. 7 kg of HCL is released (so for each second additional approx. 7 kg and we get 700 kg of HCl at 100s of simulation).
I hope I explained it well enough. If I'm wrong, please correct me or if I'm not interpreting the result properly.

The mass file is the total mass of species in the domain at a point in time. It is not the mass being produced and it is not the total mass produced since the simulation start.

If I understand correctly. In the end, I add up the given quantity for each second quantity (can be from excel) and get in a certain time, for example. 100s the total quantity of gas released. Please correct me if I'm not thinking correctly.

No. The mass file is simply the volume integral of the density of each species over the entire domain. It does not account for species that might flow out of the domain.

How or where can I get the final estimate/value of the amount of gas released in a time unit, e.g. 100s. This is the final data I want.
