Feature: Allow using drag and drop modifier within current folder #16784
Comments
Thanks for the feedback, Files already support these when holding and dragging. If it still isn't working for you please make a bug report |
Have you tried the ctrl modifer? |
Of course I have, @yaira2 . I certainly can create a shortcut (holding Alt and dragging) or a copy of a file/folder (holding Ctrl and dragging) when holding the modifier and dragging something from one tab to another, but not within a folder. Videos speak louder than words: Here is a side-by-side comparison of the Windows Explorer vs. Files. I'm holding Ctrl and just drag the 2004 sub-folder to create the copy (Explorer on the left side). Doesn't work in Files (right side). LK5RQejUib.mp4 |
What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?
I'm used to quickly creating a copy of a file or folder within a directory by simply using Ctrl and dragging and dropping said file or folder. It would be wonderful if that would work in Files as well, as well as creating a shortcut by using the Alt modifier.
