NXThemesInstaller crashes/errors on launch on firmware 20.2.0

Hi,

I am having a problem with NXThemesInstaller on firmware 20.2.0.

I downloaded NXThemesInstaller.nro from the official 4.8.3 release (Nov 17, 2025) and placed it in:

/switch/NXThemesInstaller.nro

I also downloaded the theme-patches repository and tried the offline patch method. I placed the .ips files in the expected location under the SD card, following the documented structure.

I have already tried:

using the latest NXThemesInstaller.nro from the official release
placing the file correctly in /switch/
using the theme-patches files for newer firmwares
trying the patch folder structure manually on the SD card
rechecking the SD paths multiple times

The problem is that the installer itself gives an error when I open it, so the problem is not a specific theme failing to install — the app does not load properly in the first place.

At this point I am not sure whether:

firmware 20.2.0 is still not fully supported in practice
there is some new requirement for recent firmwares
or I am missing some extra step not mentioned in the documentation

Could you please confirm:

whether NXThemesInstaller currently works on 20.2.0
whether any extra files or steps are required
whether the current offline theme-patches method is still the correct one for this firmware

Latest firmware is supported.
When this usually happens it means there is something weird going on with your sd card, can you trying completely deleting the themes folder and starting the installer without that?

The offline theme patches method is correct.

I’m encountering an error with the following versions:

• 22.1.0
• AMS 11.1

When I try to install the newest version, I keep crashing.

The title id in your crash is not the home menu, there is probably something wrong on your sd card.
Manually delete the themes folder from your PC and try again.

This is using a modified version of Atmosphere. Try the official stable release.
