In this branch is the state of the main before my reverts today: #295

This fix has to be finished in the branch and merged only when other VS libraries will be ready to be released.
But breaking changes should not be merged into main, this ruins the idea of release cycles and branch protection.

Additional note: changes in the changelogs of past releases are not permitted (you're changing the messages in changes_7.1.0.md - they have to be reverted).
