In some cases, the text of a witness which has a different reading compared from the constituted text (the <lem>) visualizes, one after the other, both the <lem> and the variant.
An example from Lucullus:

<app from="#Luc-004-10" to="#Luc-004-11">
        <rdg type="associative" cause="transposition" wit="#Erl #Pal">sunt fere</rdg>
</app>

The <lem> is fere sunt, Erl and Pal have sunt fere. This is how the text of Erl and Pal is visualized:
