Why always hassle after upgrade ?

Hi all, soory for this maybe noob question. I just upgraded to 0.300.8 and right after that i got the following fatal message:

FATAL 2026/02/04 16:51:14 charger [db:4] cannot create charger 'db:4': cannot create charger type 'template:Kathrein': template not found:

Charger is a Kathrein AC-40 which has worked before. This is the second time an update srews up the config and i have to invest time in fixing it. How can this be avoided ? I am running evcc in Proxmox and rollbacking to the last version snapshot is not the preffered way. Why is update not leaving the config untouched or migrate it in an appropriate way?
Am i doing something wrong?

The Config GUI is nice but trying to add the wallbox is not working. I can select and check the wallbox communiation and it shows green. But when adding it, it is not there.

It has to be kathrein, not Kathrein. This was fixed in evcc already 5 month ago. 7bcbebe. You make your life easier when you install each update instead of waiting and doing an update across several versions.

Apart from that, using the config ui should improve the update experience. When it does not work for your charger, create an issue with the required details.
