Difficulty getting Tivimate to accept proxied EPG

I have configured an Xtream input and corresponding target in tuliprox. However, when I add the Xtream target from tuliprox to Tivimate, it fails to load the EPG with the following message:

Failed to update EPG from "hostname.domain" at 6/4/25 06:30 PM. Make sure EPG URL is correct and check your Internet connection.

A few interesting behaviors:

• When I use the Xtream target from tuliprox in Televizo, the EPG loads without issue.
• When I add the Xtream provider directly to Tivimate, it loads the EPG without issue.
• When I add a different EPG like https://open-epg.com/files/unitedstates1.xml as the EPG source in tuliprox, Tivimate loads the EPG without issue.

This tells me that there something happening within tuliprox specifically with the full provider EPG that is breaking Tivimate's EPG loading process.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any suggestions to resolve it?

Hi @kyle-greenholt what you could do is, there is a epg.xml fil inside the target folder.

> .../all_channels/xtream >  ls
cat_live.json    cat_vod.json  live.db   series.db   video.db
cat_series.json  epg.xml       live.idx  series.idx  video.idx

The epg.xml file is a text file. You could check the validity of the created file.

@euzu I appreciate your response. I've been digging through the original and transformed EPG files, and I've identified the issue that is causing Tivimate to fail parsing the EPG.

There are a few channels in the provider EPG that have no icon source, like this:

    <channel id="ABC123">
        <display-name>Display Name</display-name>
        <icon src=""></icon>
    </channel>

The transformed EPG from tuliprox looks like this:

    <channel id="abc123">
        <display-name>Display Name</display-name>
        <icon></icon>
    </channel>

Note the <icon></icon> element without a src property. This appears to be causing the parsing issue, as when I replace all instances of <icon></icon> in the EPG with <icon src=""></icon> the EPG loads without error.

I've tested the latest changes, and Tivimate now loads the EPG data! Thanks again for making changes to resolve this error. However, I've noted that the new EPG file does not contain any <icon> elements. I would expect the icon elements that have a value in the src attribute would be kept. Does this behavior match what you're seeing?

Based on these changes, it looks like your intent is for only some <icon> elements to be removed:

@kyle-greenholt the code is ok, because it excludes all icons without an icon, but there was a little mistake, because the icon was never assigned. I have fixed this and tested it, all icons with source are now included and there are no src="" icons.
