Upgrade "esp_jpeg" to "esp_new_jpeg" useful?

What is the purpose of the "esp_jpeg" requirement? I can´t find any usage of it. And does it make sense to upgrade it to "esp_new_jpeg"?

Use cases

Better hardware support for the image conversion (like SIMD).
