lack of means to copy file download URL #875

Under "Download / Copy URL", there is a download link that if you left-click on it will download the file, but if you right-click on it, you don't get your browser's usual option to copy the link. I guess that there is some Javascript interfering with this. In some cases, there is also a separate button (to the right of it) to copy a URL, but this is for the OPeNDAP URL rather than the download one, and this is not always published.

This limitation makes it hard to capture the URL in order to download to a machine other than the one running the browser. The problem is compounded by the fact that the download URLs are excluded from the fields shown when you view the file metadata.

If an OPeNDAP URL is available, I can copy that and then edit the URL to replace dodsC with fileServer, but only because I happen to know the usual URL patterns for ESGF deployments. Otherwise, the only workaround I've found is to start to download the file (even though I don't want it on my local machine) and then get the link from chrome://downloads/
