allow users to change the width of the panels

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe

In the example shown in the screenshot below, the limited width of the left-hand panel makes it harder to distinguish between several variables in the CF Standard Name search box.

Describe the solution you'd like

Instead of the search selection panel having a fixed width, it would be good if the user could change the width, by dragging horizontally the vertical line to the right, which separates it from the search results panel.

Thats a reasonable suggestion. Though for now you can hover over the text and the full name will pop up. Can you confirm that works for you?

You need to be right over the text, not the whitespace, so its not super-sensitive, somewhat of a tradeoff.

Yes, this works as a workaround -- provided of course that users are aware of it.

Below is another use case where it would be helpful to be able to use a wider search panel. Again, it is not a show-stopper -- as by clicking to reopen the widget it is possible to verify whether the correct dates had been entered -- but it would clearly be more convenient if the panel could be resized.
