So I tried a few experiments with the freac encoding tool and here's what I found...
Pretty interesting results. Clearly I need to either stick to the 44.1 sample rate, MP3 or try another tool. There must be a misinterpretation of some file property in the Mazda software, possibly the sample rate or a related one. |

Not sure the source of this problem, but recently I ran into the following issue. Seeking advice...
1.) Converted flac audio files to m4a using fre:ac v1.1.7 Apple silicon version. Output files play correctly on macOS 15.7.2 (e.g. QuickTime).
2) Copied m4a files to USB thumb drive (formatted as FAT32); drive contains other m4a files that play correctly.
3) Played the USB new m4a files on my Mazda infotainment system. They play fine, BUT.... the stated duration is TWICE the length it is supposed to be (e.g. 4:13 song is shown as ~8:26). Consequently, the music is heard correctly from start to finish, but followed by the same duration of silence.
Any idea what might be going on here?
