SACD ripping support would be rad #699

The much bigger problem would be hardware support as there are no computer-connectable drives that I know of which are capable of reading, let alone ripping SACDs. Existing solutions either require you to have a very specific model of the PS3 with sufficiently old firmware (virtually impossible to get), or a Blu-ray player that can be asked nicely to run some external software. Both solutions boil down to having the device stream the raw SACD content over the network to a computer saving them to DSD files. See https://github.com/sacd-ripper/sacd-ripper . |

I didn't know that part. I thought a BD drive could read SACD's. Is this prevented in the drive's firmware or something? |

I have an SACD that I've never listened to because I don't have a player for it, and I would like to rip it to DSD files. I'm sure there is some command line cool way to do this, but support in freac would be nice. Just a thought.
