Rule character limits

Rules files are limited to 6000 characters each. Any content above 6000 characters will be truncated and Cascade will not be aware of them.

If the total of your global rules and local rules exceed 12,000 characters, priority will be given to the global rules, followed by the workspace rules. Any rules beyond 12,000 characters will be truncated.

The current .windsurfrules template is 20,348 characters, while the prompt template is 9,996 characters. So are we losing 2/3rd's of the rules to truncation which is likely less than ideal, impacting the how the framework should function?

Appreciate we can customise the provided templates or use a 'read this other file' rule technique (not sure that really work's though due to said character limits).

Unsure what the rule limit's are for other IDE's / agents, perhaps a more optimised set of rules could be made available for Windsurf?

Yes, they changed it from when this was released. I will soon release my own IDE that utilizes the meta cognitive workflow. I am sorry I didn't see that you had submitted an issue for so long. My apologies.
