ValueError: Unknown CUDA arch (8.9) or GPU not supported

i am running in to problems when trying to run this program.  when running the notebook, i get an error: 

ValueError: Unknown CUDA arch (8.9) or GPU not supported

What can i do to fix this? i am running the program from a WSL. might this be a problem?
