When generating a new mail or reply. Or basically anything with the AI tool. And then selecting "Apply to email".
Problem
Two problems arise:
- The full mail thread got replaced (this include also previous replies in that mail thread) and get replaced my a single AI response.
- Roundcube signatures getting replaced as well. Instead of only inserting the AI response above the RC signature. The whole signature is gone (or sometimes 'ai generated', instead of keeping the original email signature below the email).

Email signatures are often pre-configured text, often in HTML layout within Roundcube, which may contain an image (of the company), the name, address, email, web URL, etc.
Signatures are auto-inserted by Roundcube automatically, depending on your configuration or your select email addresses where to sent from. Those signatures end up at the bottom of the a new email or reply.
Proposed Solution:
- Only retrieve the content from above the signature (or in a reply you can include the mail thread as context, as long as the AI model doesn't generate a wrong signature). Aka just keep the Roundcube signature in tact.
- When applying the AI generated response do NOT replace the whole email thread 😢 (since you lose the mail history). Plus only insert the AI generated text ABOVE the existing roundcube email signature (if present).
