Automatically apply default edge_weights for bifurcating networks #136

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
For bifurcating networks, it makes sense to use default edge_weights/splitting ratios so that the output of an upstream.sum is roughly as one would expect. Whilst now we do include edge_weights in the grit river network, we do not apply them automatically by default (default assumes no weighting, or equivalently that every edge has weight 1).
