How to generate compile_commands.json from "Compile Database Parser" ?

I try to pass the compile flags to clangd but looks like I'm doing something wrong.

In Imported project as Makefile project:

and

but could not find any JSON file in project directory and the .clangd file looks like this:

$ cat .clangd 
CompileFlags: {CompilationDatabase: }

Any advice?

BTW: there is no new line at the end of this file.

It seems that the automatic setting of the path to the compile_commands.json cannot be set automatically in the .clangd config file. Try to set the project relative in the .clangd file manually, e.g.:
CompileFlags: {CompilationDatabase: build/Debug}

Do you create make files manually in your project?

yes, I'm working on 3rd party projects and using their build system (make file). Need to scan compiler command to produce JSON for clangd. At the last resort I can do it manually, but need to know if .clangd won't be overwritten by eclipse.
