We got this error when troubleshooting an item in Janeway that had been imported from OJS. We were trying to apply a metadata and PDF change to the item but were not seeing the changes reflected on jSchol after several attempts. The plugin was giving us green 'success' messages. So we went into the Publishing Plugin and removed the source: OJS and source id: 60966 and tried again, resulting in the above error.

As a temporary fix, we corrected the metadata and PDF for this item via OJS, while EV is out, but would be good to understand why the updates failed for an imported / migrated item.
