support for .hdt file format ?

Hello!
Just a check if anyone else would be interested to work with .hdt files? To be able to calibrate the DTS system and to have better visualizations of the data with this dtscalibration code.
The file format is produced by Bandweaver software (from UK as far as I know) the interface we have starter to use is named DTSCM2 . I have done some work with the raw .hdt files but as I am not an expert of DTS data, it is hard to understand the context of the whole file. The measurement intervals and temp start-end points are clear but the strokes I can ´t manage to wrap my head around anymore.

Hi, if you have files from this device, and can write the python code to read it, we can integrate it into this package.

The main data required is;

• timestamp
• stokes
• anti-stokes
• distance along the fiber
• any reference temperature sensor
• if available: reverse stokes/anti-stokes from a backward measurement in a double-ended setup

Other info is nice-to-have but not required.

xarray is able to read HDF5 data, which should make things a lot easier if Bandweaver formatted the dataset nicely.
If you can share a file I can at least get you started on writing the code.

I have some sort of pyhton code already to convert the files into an array, but it only incorporates temperature values.
Could you send me you email for sending the example faile or just drop it here?
It would be nice to have something to start with.

I have added a hdt file that has already been imported to excel. there are also some comments made (but in estonian) where the temp data starts and depths.

I zipped also 3 random hdt files from 30.09.2025.

There seems to only be temperature data in those .hdt files. Looks like ~10 km sampling but only ~1.9 km of valid data before the end of the fiber.

You will need to get different files, containing the stokes and anti-stokes measurement values, to do any other calibration than the machine one.

Hi! Sorry for the confusion with the file. Found out that so far the strokes and antistrokes where now saved. I can now share a file that has strokes data also.

This data is from a different cable (but also channel no 2) and should be 1151m in length.
