@wooolly CoPilot asked if you can point out where this feature exsists on iOS and on Android, nativelly? MAUI can wrap on those function, but can not come up with something new. |

I'm not 100% sure, I'm seeking guidance here. I don't believe the OS has a built-in feature for this, but that's not to say it's not possible to be implemented in the framework? |

Our app is provided to our users (on Android, iOS and Windows) with a per-device license, but there seems to be no means of properly supporting this licensing model.
We following this post to get a unique identifier which we check against when the user logs in. However, if for instance the user switches to a guest profile on Android and reinstalls the app on their guest profile, it generates a different ID, so it's not device specific. Likewise on iOS, if they factory reset the device the ID will change.
Is there any way of generating/getting a unique identifier for the device which will always remain the same regardless of user profile, whether they factory reset the device, or if they reinstall the app?
Is there any chance of this feature being added to MAUI? Perhaps via some shared preference that persists across profiles? As per the post I linked above, even if it's not possible to maintain these preferences after a factory reset, it's not ideal but if we can at least support multiple accounts on the same device and still treat it as a single device with the same ID per account that'd be ideal.
