The provided example cannot work as provided

Expected Behavior:

I would have expected to either be able to initialize configure and run either from the root of the repo or from the examples directory. I appreciate the value of the code, but working would be better.

So,

• no package.json
• things like: no implementations for the events
• services require a userId for methods called by the controller but not provided by the controller

There's enough code to assume that someone has this working. Can the complete version please be shared.
