Naming Question: Data Rich or Data Driven ... #1046
-
Quick thoughts for/against the following options for a name to describe our preferred markdown-plus format that includes support for data presentation e.g. tables, graphs etc etc. data rich documents (or data rich stories) BackgroundFirst we said "data literate"Originally (i.e. 2020-2021) we used the term "data literate" documents for markdown "plus" (aka MDX-style) documents with rich data support e.g. tables, visualizations etc. https://github.com/datopian/data-literate https://github.com/datopian/data-literate/blob/main/content/about.md#data-literate-documents However, this is not great for a variety of reasons - most obviously data literacy means something else. Then we said "data rich"Starting this year we started talking about data rich documents. https://datahub.io/blog/tutorial-publishing-data-rich-doc-on-datahub Then (?) "data driven stories"**I noticed use of "data driven stories" from @demenech I like data-driven too. Issue has been that data-driven documents was kind of taken over by d3 (it stands for data driven documents!) |

My current sense is "Data Rich Documents" or "Data Rich Stories" are the best terms ... Why?

I'd stick with Data Rich Documents too. Data Driven has more connotations at different levels and might be confusing.
