This would be very useful for CDL in both our awards registration work, as well as for capturing the relationship between enrichment datasets and the models and software that were used to produce in the context of our work on COMET. |

I could see this being useful for connecting software and datasets. I think we have been using IsDerivedFrom and IsSourceOf for those relations, but IsOutputOf and HasOutput seems like it would make more sense. Might be good for documentation to help folks understand when to use one pair versus the other. |

The DataCite Metadata Schema includes a controlled vocabulary for relationship types—relationType—to connect related research outputs and resources. We are looking to expand this vocabulary to cover use cases where one research object is an output of another.
These include:
Proposed new relationType: HasOutput
Term: HasOutput
Definition: indicates A has an output B
Example and Usage Notes:
May be used to connect awards, projects, and software to their associated outputs.
Proposed new relationType: IsOutputOf
Term: IsOutputOf
Definition: indicates A is an output of B
Example and Usage Notes:
May be used to connect the outputs of awards, projects, and software to their sources.
