Hi @borsna ! Thank you for this suggestion. More flexible querying for affiliation names is on our radar—we'll keep you updated as we work on this! Are there any other fields where more flexible querying would be useful to you? |

Hi @borsna ! With your feedback in mind, we made changes to a few fields in the REST API so that they can be queried case insensitively and more flexibly. These include:

What is the problem that your suggestion solves?
When filtering in the affiliation string it is now case sensitive. e.g:
https://api.datacite.org/dois?query=creators.affiliation.name:DataCite
1367 resultshttps://api.datacite.org/dois?query=creators.affiliation.name:Datacite
6 resultshttps://api.datacite.org/dois?query=creators.affiliation.name:datacite
2 resultsThis makes it hard to do all possible combinations when trying to get a list with a certain affiliation when ROR-id is not provided.
What solution might meet your needs?
It would be good to be able to do a case insensitive filter (with wildcard characters) to get results independent how the affiliation is written with Upper/Lower case.
Your name
Olof Olsson
Your organization
Swedish National Data Service
What alternatives have you tried or considered?
Doing a OR-search with common upper/lowercase combination for the affiliation we look for.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
