unable to type into the "Updating existing code" text area

I have an existing snippet, which runs.

Then, I click Create with Gemini.

Then, I select Update code.

Then, I put my cursor into the text area.

Then , I try to type.

Actual: my typing appears in the running app's text area (see screenshot, where "imp" is)

Expected: my typing appears in the text area for Update existing code.

this is on Chrome for Mac desktop.

Note in the screenshot, the letters "imp" should have appears in the Update existing code text area. They instead appear in the text field for Gemini MTG Card Creator's "Enter a prompt" text input.

I think this will be fixed by #3251, but we are waiting for flutter/flutter#166804 to land in the stable channel.
