App redirecting back to login instead of showing error messages.

I have an email verification setup (app deployed on shinyapps.io) . When I try to login without having verified the email before, I should get an error "Please verify your email." Instead, the error page is immediately redirected back to login. I know the issue is not on auth0 side, because when I test my login outside of the app scope, the errors are displayed as they should.

Is there any force redirection in the auth0 functions that does not take into account this scenario?

@jtrecenti we're experiencing the same issue with deployment on shinyapps.io and YAML configured like this:

We configured our tenant:

• persistent sessions: enabled
• Seamless SSO: enabled

The user spins in a loop of logins. With Seamless SSO, the login tends to loop 2-20 times before it establishes a session. Without Seamless SSO, the user must manually login every time, but the problem is same: 2-20 attempts to login before a session gets established.

Any ideas?

So the looping issue was caused by the Project name mismatch in RStudio and the app name parameter in _auth0.yml. Healthy settings for YML file are:

Make sure that your R project has the same project name as your app. In our case 'gaia', and that the same name is the end-part of your link on ShinyApps.

Make sure that YML does not have any slashes at the end of your 'remote_url', and sync that remote URL string with Application settings on Auth0. In short - no URL should end with a forward slash.

A recommendation is use project and application name in small letters only. No capitals.

That solved the looping issue for me.
