This was given me from an Acer Forum, so I'm passing it along. I'm kinda felt this was the case since schneegans is so thorough and it appears popular by many to disable the WPBT. But just wanted to confirm. I'm now going to add this to my answer file. |

Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for adding the reply from the Acer forum. The Disable WPBT execution was only added quite recently. To be honest, I had never even heard of that mechanism before. My feeling was that there is little reliable documentation on WPBT, and also some of it might only apply to certain computer vendors. This remark from the dropWPBT repository instilled me with enough confidence to include this setting. |

Concerned about whether to select this one on my answer file checklist.
[ ] Disable Windows Platform Binary Table (WPBT) execution ?
From searchinbg web it appears disabling Windows Platform Binary Table (WPBT) execution can reduce the risk of unwanted software or malware running at startup. However it may also complicate the installation of necessary vendor software.
If I check this box could this stop (or complicate) my Laptop from performing a BIOS update?
I concerned about this since I had one HP laptop that did a BIOS update without even asking me. Just did it on boot up.
