closing bugs don't make them go away, especially if you have github set so others can't reopen issues.

#992 is still not resolved, I've been attempting different methods of recovery and so far it's looking like the only solution is to delete CWA and switch to a different form of the calibre server.

Could you please either not close issues unless the creator has confirmed the fix works or hasn't responded within a period of time? otherwise can you change settings so that the creator of an issue can reopen an issue?

I did eventually figure out the solution, which was to use the split library feature to move the metadata.db files onto the same drive as the /config directory

Update: I found a solution. after manually searching through the closed issues I stumbled across one talking about the new version of CWA not working with mergerfs mounts, something that wasn't mentioned anywhere.

1. in the docker file I moved the calibre-library directory to be right beside CWA's config directory, and created a new mount to my library at /ebooks
2. I re-ran docker compose and enabled the "split library" function, adding /ebooks as the directory to my ebook library
3. then I stopped CWA, moved the metadata.db files from my ebook library to the newly generated calibre-library directory, then restarted CWA

now everything works.

To make it easier to others having a similar issue, maybe add to the docker compose file a toggle to move the metadata.db files to /config, or add a way to define a split library in the compose.
