recycle: no results in recycle being active

Description

When I add:

recycle: no

It does activate the recycle bin. This is probably due to the code just checking if recycle exists, rather then checking it's value.

Expected behaviour

recycle: no should be equivalent to omitting it.

Actual behaviour

recycle: no is equivalent to recycle: yes
