🔄 Replace Field in Field Layout (like changing field types)

When editing a field, you have the option to change it's field type without losing any data (assuming it's a supported field type). This is great, but you can't really do this if the field is used in many places and you only want to change the field type in one instance.

What if you had the option to replace a field within the field layout editor while also preserving it's data? Of course, ideally you'd only be able to swap it with another compatible field.

Definitely some overlap! Both behaviors would be great. I've run into that same scenario as well where I need to change a default value or something similar.

In this instance, I don't necessarily want to clone, I want to swap to an entirely different field. But I do want to retain the data just like the other example.

Maybe a combo of sorts: 🔄 Replace (select a field, create a new field, or clone the current field)

+1 I get a lot of these where a Replace of Clone field without data loss would be a time savior.
