Platform issue

it was very complicated when I try to using on difference platform. I am using SilverStripe 2.4, first installation is on my notebook Window 7 , I can follow the installation procedure to success to install the module, but when I using the gallery upload, the file upload % bar show, but error for the directory permission, I give the directory everyone full control, the permission error disappear, but still cannot upload the file, also no thumbnail display. Then I install to my MACBook Pro, everything was fine, I can upload the file, create the album, so I still the development on my MAC. When I finish the development up to the SIT server (Windows 2003) the problem come back, I think may be the OS problem, it's ok for my production server (Linux), but the production server have the same problem.

Some questions:

• SS 2.4 - which point version (5,6,7,8 etc)
• Windows - we develop on Linux and have limited resources to test this on a Windows server. You may have to do some hacking on this to get it working and provide any code back.
• Thumbnail display - may be related to your directory permissions

There are a lot of items here, so it may be better to split them up into different issues
