BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato)

This is a traditional American sandwich that evolved from Tea Sandwiches.

Bacon

Bacon is a form of cured meat, usually from a pig, that is sliced and cooked.

Traditionally, pork belly bacon is used in a BLT, but shoulder bacon is also very good.

Lettuce

Traditionally, iceburg lettuce is used, but any lettuce will do.

Tomato

Tomatoes should be picked at the height of season. Freshness matters with this sandwich.
