Hello,

I tried installing molecule using pip on centos7 but getting following error:

It might be because of a change in pip itself. Could you please post the version of pip you are using ?

Hi. I'm facing a similar issue (installing Molecule using pip on RHEL 7.7)
Here's my environment:

$ python -V
Python 2.7.5
$ pip --version
pip 19.2.3 from /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/pip (python 2.7)

Here's the error:

I just had the same issue on a CentOS 7.7 sytem. Updating setuptools fixed it (currently using 42.0.2).

$ python -V
Python 2.7.5
$ pip --version
pip 19.3.1 from /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/pip (python 2.7)
$ pip list | grep setuptools
setuptools                       42.0.2
