[question] hubsan v2 support

I am really interested by your project :)

just 2 question before buying one of those cable :

• Is it hubsan latest version compatible ? (the v2 with the led)
• I have seen another method to controll the hubsan

  Is MPSSE cable method better ? is it stable enough ?

Hi there,

The V2 is definitely compatible. As for the MPSSE approach, I found it very convenient as I didn't have to mess around with the Arduino and could talk to the Hubsan directly from Python. The code was good enough to base my master's project on it, but some people have had trouble connecting to the quadcopter, which I think is due to timing issues. It's up to you whether you take that risk, but even if you run into trouble I think you should be able to get it to work with some simple adjustments to the code.

I received my a1705 and my mpsse cable today (still waiting for the hubsan )

How did you "attach" your cable to the a7105 chip, do you need welding ? it's very small
Also, if I understand well, you need to connect the black wire with the 2 "gnd" pins at the same time ?

ps: I saw at your linkedin profil that your master work was about controlling the copter with Computer Vision. It seems very interesting for me !
Was it programmed with python too and would it be possible for you to publish the source ? I would be very thankfully for this

Hi,

You should solder some wires onto the pins on the A7105 and then plug the wires into the connectors on the end of the cable. It's a bit tricky as the pins are quite small unfortunately. I got a friend to do it for me. :) Yes, you should connect both gnd pins to the gnd wire on the cable.

I'll upload the master's project source code eventually, it's just a bit of a mess and had a lot of hardcoding for my setup. :)
