VOCR keeps launching at login even if i disable the option in the menu extra.

hello.
once i disabled this option and i restarted my mac the app keeps launching. not sure if it's a system thing, but i wonder if can you get a work around to take it off the login items once i disable the option.

Vocr uses launch agent feature on macos. You can simply recheck and uncheck launch on login, or simply delete com.chikim.vocr.plist file in ~/Library/LaunchAgents folder. If you can't find the file, then something else is launching the VOCR on login. Maybe you added VOCR to login item from system settings in the past?

Can you check if you can manually remove from system settings > general > login items?

ok, i found the issue. to be more speciffic, just the toggle looks wrong. so when it doesn't launch at log in the launch on login is checked and when it does it's not checked.

Hmm, that is strange. The status of the checkbox depends on whether com.chigkim.VOCR.plist exists in ~/library/launchagents/ or not.
It works correctly from my end.
Can you delete that file, reboot, and try again?

the prlem is that i don't know what's going on, since the menu options do not check and uncheck properly it looks like. i have to select a menu item twice in order to change it's state. not sure why.

ok, i've tried deleting the prefernces file from ~/library/preferences/com.chitkim.vocr.plist or what ever that file was called, still same results. the launch on log in menu item still checked when the launch agent is not there and viceversa.

Did you reboot after you delete the file?

if you mean the launch agent yes. if you mean the preference i didn't try that. also, is there another settings file besides the com.chitkim.vocr.plist in the ~/library/preferences folder?

Yes it's in ~/library/preferences/com.chikim.VOCR.plist, but the Startup doesn't use that settings though.
Also unless you run the reset feature from the latest VOCR beta build, just deleting the file won't work. I believe MacOS caches those preference files in memory.
You would need to reboot your machine.

ok, same issue. so, when the launch agent is there launch log in is unchecked and when it' not it's checked. and sometimes when i click on the menu item it doesn't remove the launch agent right away, i have to click ome times twice. like, to access that menu and click on the login item. just so you know, i'm using the latest version of mac os taho.
