Need to investigate a method for providing the containers with renewable HTTPS support.

Not sure what you mean by 'renewable'. You just have to set CHEVERETO_HTTPS environment variable to true to enable HTTPS requests. In my case, I use Nginx as a reverse proxy to forward HTTPS requests to the container and it works as expected.
