Axe is currently incompatible with Happy DOM

I've added a note in the readme about the issue. Essentially this lib won't work for people who use happy-dom as their testing environment, and there's not much we can do about it until Happy DOM considers revisiting its implementation of certain details in the Node prototype.

Current workaround is to use jsdom. Leaving this issue here to reference in case someone runs into it.
