Add support for compiling on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

It has been reported that compilation of the project fails on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

This is a known issue. I have not updated my development system to 24.04, so I have not been able to fix it. I will try to update in the near future and will close this once it has been resolved.
