Requiems API Business Source License (BSL)

Licensor: Eliaz Sebastian Bobadilla Camarena Licensed Work: Requiems API (the "Software")

1. Definitions

"Software" means the Requiems API source code and all related files distributed under this License.

"Derivative Work" means any modification, adaptation, fork, extension, or work based on or derived from the Software.

"Competing Service" means any publicly accessible service, platform, API, application, hosted environment, or offering that exposes substantially similar core functionality, endpoints, or capabilities as the Software or the official Requiems API service, whether directly or indirectly.

2. License Grant

Subject to the terms of this License, the Licensor grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • View, use, copy, and modify the Software
  • Create Derivative Works
  • Self-host and run the Software
  • Use the Software for personal, educational, research, development, evaluation, and internal business purposes

3. Permitted Uses

You MAY:

  • Self-host the Software for private or internal use
  • Deploy the Software within your own organization
  • Modify or extend the Software
  • Contribute improvements

4. Restrictions

You MAY NOT use the Software or any Derivative Work to create, operate, or provide a Competing Service.

This includes, but is not limited to:

(a) Offering the Software as a hosted, managed, or software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform

(b) Providing access to the Software's functionality via an API, proxy, wrapper, gateway, or intermediary service

(c) Operating a service that exposes substantially similar functionality derived from the Software, regardless of branding, user interface, or additional features

(d) Offering managed hosting, deployment, or infrastructure services that provide the Software or its functionality to third parties

(e) Reselling, sublicensing, or commercially distributing hosted access to the Software

(f) Operating any public-facing service that substitutes for or competes with the official Requiems API offering

Applies Regardless of Business Model

These restrictions apply regardless of whether the service is:

  • Free
  • Paid
  • Donation-supported
  • Indirectly monetized (including ads, consulting, bundling, or lead generation)

5. Proprietary Components

Certain datasets, infrastructure components, integrations, assets, pipelines, or services used by the official hosted version of Requiems API are proprietary and are not included in this repository or licensed under this agreement.

Self-hosted deployments may differ in functionality.

6. Ownership

The Software and all associated intellectual property rights remain the exclusive property of Eliaz Sebastian Bobadilla Camarena.

7. Future Licensing

The Licensor reserves the right to license future versions of the Software under different terms or licenses.

8. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
