Use a building layer like @straup building=yes over some assessor's cadastral maps for a demo on some city where stuff like these base layers may not be available

I'll be publishing all the bits (including the Tilestache configs) for this shortly. All the b=y stuff will be open-sourced for Museums and the Web.

I realized today that I'll need to do a bit more work to tweak the modestmaps.js stuff to use layers and to not pull in buildings from XAPI at zoom levels <= (something) since its pointless and just causes everyone's servers to timeout...

Thanks for the update! (and for prettymaps and football numbers of cool geo things.) I will study both the building layer and maybe how to work with it in modestmaps, in my attempts to use detailed building footprints even zoom 18 can be heavy, so I am using image tiles for now, a la in this interface chosen completely at random: http://cityedit.sfgeo.org/cityrewritealpha/_design/maps/_show/editor/geodoc-0953853c0dd3eebbb76ccafafa2801ed#20.00/37.76503/-122.41971
