Steps to repro:

  • Run ftl dev
  • Have a subscription a large number of events behind the latest for the topic
  • Kill ftl (control-c)

Expected:

  • Subscription just stops where it is

What happens:

  • A lot of events try to be consumed but fail all at once.
  • The subscription progresses a lot, and a lot of errors get dumped into the logs
