First! I am Dragos, I am first in everything. I did a bunch of plugins, godot-rapier, godot-box2d, and contribute often to Blazium. I am part of the Blazium team and am here to help anyone who also wants to contribute (either full module or bugfixes, I can review both).

I'm quite new to any game engine development and open source contributions, but not new to C++.

I just finished building Blazium on my Windows 11 using Scons and wondering how to proceed next with attempting to solve Issues.

My CodeTriage assigned to me #480. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi @adachng! So, how I would go about it, I would first try to understand where in code this happens, so I have a good idea. It seems to be a pretty core part of the engine, so I would first look at the scene/main/node.h file, then at the core/variant/dictionary.h file. However I found nothing of importance there.
Then next step would be to check other PR's where things like this were addressed. So looking at the godot repo for eg., I see a PR:
godotengine#105368
Looking at the files changed there, I see the person doing the change changed editor/editor_properties_array_dict.cpp, so that would be a good starting point. It also seems that that PR is kinda closely related to that issue, it's possbile if we just cherry pick it (if we don't have that commit also), it might fix this.

Hi @Ughuuu!

I was quite unfamiliar with buildsystems on Windows so I took a while to figure things out, and just today I managed to build Blazium with C# on my Windows machine (solved the Blazium .NET SDK not found/mismatch issue as well).

I'll see how to proceed from here tomorrow. Thank you very much for your input on how you'd approach this!

TLDR;

There are a few advantages over Godot, such as:

• additional features/modules we have (eg. sqlite, .env, csv, six way lighting material etc.)
• the platform integrations (eg. discord/steam/etc.)
• the team we have (@Ughuuu, @Bioblaze, @jss2a98aj, @WhalesState, @flare199, @sshiiden)
• the multiplayer services
• and the games we actively build

Games we are developing (with more to come)

• ProjectHangman - classic game of hangman with competitive mode also. This one is the only one that is released and playable.
• ProjectTicTacToe - open source multiplayer tictactoe game on steam/discord/web/mobile.
• ProjectQuiz - a who wants to be a millionaire like game.

Platform integration

• GodotSteam integrated directly
  Our ProjectHangman on steam built with it.

• Hangman is not open source, but we will have a simpler tictactoe game soon that people can look at for example that will be open source:

• DiscordEmbeddedApp - This is integrated directly in the engine and allows us to export the game in the discord app:

• Youtube Playables support.

Features we add on top

• SQLite module integrated (load sqlite databases or write to sqlite file directly in gdscript)
• CSV files direct support (right now in godot only works with translation csv.
• .ENV file support direct in the editor.
• Six Way Lighting Material

Mutliplayer Service:

• Custom made Multiplayer Services:
  • LobbyService: Relay server and also optionally a scripted lobby service (multiplayer game backend) with lua and angelscript with a focus on performance:

We use this for our hangman game and it scales really well.

Here it does 80k messages per s with 2 cores. With 1 core about 40k messages per s. If you were to build a realtime game with 20fps on server side, it would do about 2k users connected at once.

• LoginService which integrates login support on backend for our games:

• MasterServerService, which helps show a list of your hosted games.

• POGR.io, one of our corporate sponsors, which handles game analytics, such as collecting events and player count:

Wow, as expected, you really had to stretch for five.

Two of which are pure fluff (Our team! Our games! TicTac and Hangman oh my!) and the other three, which are either very minor or can already be replicated in Godot with scant effort.

Not super compelling to be honest.

(also, do know it's not very polite to come over to someone else's repo and be disrespectful to their work. It's not like you pay me to do this work, if you don't like it don't use it, I don't see what's your problem with me?)
