Deploy on PI 3 B+

Hi
I want to deploy on my PI 3 B+.
Using the current berryaudio_v3.0.0.img.zip , The PI keep stacked and nothing is displayed on the connected LCD over DSI.

Do you think i need to change something and rebuild the image ?

did you follow the steps and try using their official documentation to load the LCD manually ? with what I can see its a generic DSI I have added support for Generic DSI

1. Just replace the following files in /home/pi/berryaudio/display/
2. Restart your PI - you should now see a Generic DSI option in the display settings
3. Select Generic DSI from the display settings and reboot again
4. Let me know if you see the display loading.

I first edit the img to
Edit /boot/config.txt and add:

dtoverlay=vc4-kms-dsi-waveshare-800x480

I then updated the files, removed the rotation and the ui is up.

It seems super laggy, I might need some tweaks.
How can i store the wifi network credential and auto connect?

Amazing, great to know you got the UI working :)

Once wifi is connected the credentials are automatically stored in the built in linux network manager so you dont have to save them manually. Incase its unable to connect to wifi you should see a hotspot show up.

For tweaks while a 3B+ should be good enough you can disable Multiroom audio temporarily to check if it improves performance

Wifi connection was not working, i'm in France and it seems that region DE blocks it cfg80211.ieee80211_regdom=DE.
I'm only able to connect over ethernet firsts time to change over ui the Paris before begin able to connect to my wifi.

Btw was never able to connect to Hotspot... mb cause of DE region ...

Can you tell me if configuration can be updated in a file statically on the python backend ? like for starting or not the Multiroom audio / the default display to use ...

Another question, my touch seems to non be responding on pi display. When i stay clicking a selection cursor (as a mouse) appears. Is there any fix you know for this ?
ps : my x11 server seems to not start cause of permission problem on /tmp folder

Your welcome!

• For wifi may be the new release will fix it for you.
• You can go to the Settings -> Multiroom and disable server and reboot (may be this what you were looking for ?)
• For touch not responding, you may need to rotate the touch display configuration

Also make sure your dtoverlay and configurations from waveshare are done correctly.
Then edit the below file and update it

sudo nano /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf

Update the following InputClass for touchscreen and add the line Option "TransformationMatrix" "0 -1 1 1 0 0 0 0 1"

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "libinput touchscreen catchall"
        MatchIsTouchscreen "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "libinput"
        Option "TransformationMatrix" "0 -1 1 1 0 0 0 0 1"

CTRL + O to write the changes.

Hi, Thanks for those fixes.
I deployed the new release. The hotspot still does not work
and the wifi does not connect untill the region is changed. Maybe forcing DE in boot option is not that useful ?

Here are my updates

• Removed the TransformationMatrix line from 40-libinput.conf
• Removed the rotation from display.json in xrandr cmd
• updated the .bash_profile : [[ -z $DISPLAY && $XDG_VTNR -eq 1 ]] && startx -- -nocursor
• switched from appimage to chromium-browser ( as the rendering is failing on my pi 3...)
  • sudo apt update

  • Updated the system.py
